The Moscow Art Theater Museum in partnership with the creative agency conducted an analysis of the graphic design of the theater and the Moscow Art Theater Museum since its inception. Based on the archive of F.I. Shekhtel with the first sketches of a seagull, drawings, typography and posters of the early twentieth century, the team revealed the graphic foundations that were laid by Shekhtel, but over time deformed and lost their character. The goal of the project was to search for an identity and identify a visual language that would be relevant today. To develop a new corporate identity for the Moscow Art Theater Museum, we studied the graphic heritage of Fyodor Shekhtel, the author of the architectural designs for the buildings of the Moscow Art Theater. Chekhov and the Moscow Art Theater Museum. Shekhtel became our leader, and we were his apprentices. We took his drawings as a brief and tried to bring them to a complete graphic system.
